Message from the General Manager – June 2023
Dear Guests,
Greetings from the sunny side of life at Innahura! What a month it’s been since I last wrote to you; the famous island smiles have been even bigger lately, and it’s all thanks to you – your reviews have gained us another award. I am proud to say that Innahura Maldives Resort has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2023, placing our resort amongst the top 10% of hospitality businesses worldwide. We couldn’t have achieved this without you, our guests, taking the time to write about your wonderful stays with us and on behalf of the entire team, I thank you.
The month of May saw us celebrate World Turtle Day but don’t worry if you missed it; at Innahura, any day can be a turtle day with the spectacular encounters awaiting our divers and snorkelers at Turtle Rock, a nearby reef with lots of inquisitive hawksbills! Furthermore, with World Environment Day and World Oceans Day occurring in the first part of June, we are reminded of the importance of appreciating and protecting the outstanding natural beauty surrounding us, something we strive for in all we do at Innahura; we want the Maldives, and nature itself, to be enjoyed and appreciated by many generations to come.
World Environment Day celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and the theme for 2023 is ‘Solutions to Plastic Pollution’. At Innahura, we are striving to minimise the use of plastics and are proud of our innovative desalination plant, which means we do not need to import drinking water in plastic bottles; we fill our own reusable glass bottles for our guests. Our team members are each issued with a refillable aluminium bottle for their drinking water too. With these initiatives, Innahura has been able to cut down the amount of single-use water bottles to almost zero, and the damaging and dangerous use of single-use plastic straws has been replaced with biodegradable paper straws in our restaurants and bars. Recently, Innahura has partnered up with Parley to improve our waste management efforts to contribute to cleaning up our oceans.
Suppose you’re seeking a resort where the environment is important, where relaxation and excitement are equally matched. In that case, wellness can be prioritised, and adventures enjoyed; you’ll find what you’re looking for at Innahura. The first step on your journey to our resort is to check the special offers – enjoy a stay this summer with 30% off (extended and bookable until 15th July!), during the Maldives’ high season, over winter, with 25% discount and the chance of mantas too, or be an early bird and catch 25% discount for Summer 2024 – the choice is yours.
I look forward to greeting you at Innahura soon, next season or even next year!
Sunny wishes,
Jorge
