Earth Hour is the largest global movement for increasing awareness about the health of our planet. It aims to get people all over the world talking about protecting nature, to combat climate change and ensure our own health, happiness, prosperity and even survival.
Each year on the last Saturday of March, at 20.30 local time, the lights are switched off for one hour, creating a wave of darkness across the world. Caring for the environment is very important to Innahura Maldives and we strive to do all we can to protect our beautiful surroundings, above and below the surface of the ocean, so that future generations may enjoy them too. On Saturday 27th March we will go the extra mile and mark Earth Hour by switching off all but essential power for two hours (19:30-21:30); our restaurant will be lit with candles and, to further symbolise the need to have a greener and more sustainable approach to life on planet Earth, there will be a tree planting celebration too.
We know that many of you across the globe are currently unable to leave your home, travel or socialise with your wider family and friends, and the team at Innahura would like it very much if you would join them in switching off the lights, wherever you may be. Have a candlelight dinner, watch the stars from your window, and come together for nature, even in the face of adversity.
