Clean Up the World 2023
On Saturday, 16th September 2023, the Prodivers team and guests at Innahura Maldives Resort joined millions of others across the globe for the annual Clean Up the World event. Established in 1993 and is one of the largest community-based environmental programs in the world with more than 130 countries taking part and we were proud to have joined them. The aim is to inspire the global population of planet Earth to tread lightly, clean up and conserve the planet with a massive effort to combat waste and plastic pollution.
The team travelled by boat and went snorkelling at Hudhufushe Etere to find and collect rubbish whilst another two of the team went diving to collect anything deeper on the reef. A shallow reef in front of Maabinhura was visited next for further cleaning. The event was enjoyed by all who took part with everyone happy to be making a positive contribution to the health of the ocean.
Clean up events such as these prevent the collected debris from causing harm to marine life and other wildlife on land. Thank you to all who were involved!
Care for the environment lies at the heart of Innahura and it was great to see our guests and team members taking an active part in this year’s event – local actions really do make a global difference.
