On Saturday, 18th September 2022, the team and guests at Innahura Maldives Resort joined millions of others across the globe for the annual Clean Up the World event. Established in 1993 and is one of the largest community-based environmental programs in the world with more than 130 countries taking part and we were proud to have joined them. The aim is to inspire the global population of planet Earth to tread lightly, clean up and conserve the planet with a massive effort to combat waste and plastic pollution.
The team travelled by boat and joined forces to clean up a nearby uninhabited island, Dhiffushimaidhoo, they scoured the island’s beaches and vegetation for any debris washed up by the ocean currents. Clean up events such as these prevent the collected debris from causing harm to marine life and other wildlife on land. Thank you to all who were involved!
Care for the environment lies at the heart of Innahura and it was great to see our guests and team members taking an active part in this year’s event – local actions really do make a global difference.
